December 11th, a good day.

You know those days when you don't get anything done? Like you can't even keep the house clean, or take a shower? Usually those days make me fell, um, disappointed...but not today. Look at these boys! I got to spend ALL DAY with them. We played, laughed, hung out, ate junk food, went and got ice cream, watched cartoons, played soccer and napped.

It was joyous.

I have been thinking a lot about this topic...the general "What precisely is the point?" topic. Some days I have a firm grasp on exactly what I have been put on this earth to do (see above photo.) Some days it is less clear.

I'm hoping for more days like today.

Good News!

So, today was work day...I got a lot done! I wrote all of my posts for this week for the Heirloom blog, designed 2 fun templates and oh so much more for the corporate world... :)

My reward was reading all of my blogs in reader, and I came across some EXCELLENT news! New Moon WILL NOT be directed by Catherine Hardwicke!!!!!! YAY! Now, don't get me wrong, I have seen the Twilight movie 4 times, and it is growing on me, but I am SO excited to see what the new budget and new director might bring to New Moon.

Possible director-to-Robert Pattinson dialogue...

Director: "Okay, okay, stop. Rob, Edward isn't an insane emo freak that can't even change his death-like facial expressions when he is 'happy.'"

Rob: "Right, got it. Sorry, that's just what I did in the last film and Catherine thought it worked."

Director: "Well, I'm not Catherine."

No, new director, no you're not.

This is coming directly from Summit:
SUMMIT BEGINS SEARCH FOR NEW MOON DIRECTOR

Los Angeles, CA, December 7, 2008 – Summit Entertainment and director Catherine Hardwicke jointly announced today that the filmmaker will not be directing the next installment in the newly minted TWILIGHT film franchise. Summit’s targeted end of 2009 or early 2010 release of the film, NEW MOON, does not work with Ms. Hardwicke’s required prep time to bring her vision of the film to the big screen. Thus as has been done before with many successful film franchises, the studio will employ a new director for NEW MOON.

“I am sorry that due to timing I will not have the opportunity to direct NEW MOON,” said Hardwicke. “Directing TWILIGHT has been one of the great experiences of my life, and I am grateful to the fans for their passionate support of the film. I wish everyone at Summit the best with the sequel– it is a great story.”

“Catherine did an incredible job in helping us to launch the TWILIGHT franchise and we thank her for all of her efforts and we very much hope to work with her on future Summit projects,” said Erik Feig, Summit’s President of Production. “We as a studio have a mandate to bring the next installment in the franchise to the big screen in a timely fashion so that fans can get more of Edward, Bella and all of the characters that Stephenie Meyer has created. We are able to pursue an aggressive time frame as we have the luxury of only adapting the novels into screenplays as opposed to having to create a storyline from scratch.”

Was it timing, really, or was is the decision to use Carter Burwell as the music man?? The world may never know. Also, they are filming New Moon and Eclipse back-to-back. Awesome. All 4 should be out by 2012.

So, now you know what a total freak I am about Twilight, that's okay.
