Little things make me happy

Last year I tried to be good and not subscibe to ANY magazines. I had already stopped The Martha because all of her magazines were 95% food (and not just any food, like, fancy food that I can't even pronounce all of the ingredients) and 5% things I actually liked. I thought I wouldn't miss them.

Well I was wrong and last year sucked.

I made it to about October and I just couldn't handle the holidays without my magazine inspiration! I promptly went online and subscribed to SEVERAL, Martha included. All about food or not, that 5% is pretty awesome.

Here's the list:
Martha Stewart Living
Martha Stewart Weddings
Real Simple (Thanks C)
BHG
Country Living
Traditional Home
Veranda
Ballard Design (haha)
O
And my new FAVORITES:
Elle Decor and
House Beautiful (we first fell in love when I totally swipped it from my Dr.'s office. I returened it, eventually.)

I cannot say enough about these last two. Inspiring. I shall illustrate: usually I dog-ear about 3-4 pages and tear them out for my design files. This month's Elle Decor was a little different. See for yourself:

  1. It is so reassuring to know that you're only about 95% original, and need a little extra outside inspiration, just like the rest of the world!! That 5% aside, though, you are completely awesome. :) And, I have to agree, an afternoon spent leafing through a fabulous magazine is just bliss.

  2. I have decided I need to start subscribing to a few of those. :) Good work on the advertisement.

  3. I LOVE magazines, and have piles and piles of back issues hidden in various corners of my house. I really miss Domino (RIP), but HB and ED are good substitutes. While we are gone I was so relieved that I could put my subscriptions on hold so I wouldn't miss anything!
